Lambda has created the Carbon Free Industrial Zone, (CFIZ), shown in the green halo below. Industry can de-carbonize by capturing and permanently storing their CO2 in the CFIZ.

Lambda is adapting existing oil and gas infrastructure to enable the storage of 160 million metric tonnes of CO2 captured from multiple carbon-intensive operations, including ethanol plants, cement plants and natural gas processing plants.

These CO2 sources will produce low carbon-intensity transportation fuel, cement, natural gas, and products to assist the State of Michigan in achieving its aggressive decarbonization goals.

The Niagaran Pinnacle Reefs in the Michigan Basin provide the CO2 storage capacity. Lambda is the primary operator in the trend with over 180 legacy oil and gas producing reefs identified as carbon sequestration sites.

Lambda recently submitted Michigan’s very first Class-VI injection well permit for the Brown 4 Reef in Manistee County. The reef will permanently and safely sequester over 3 million metric tonnes of CO2. Lambda will soon be submitting additional Class-VI well permits.

Strategically positioned across the northern reef trend, our existing pipeline infrastructure and subsurface capacity place Lambda at the forefront of carbon storage capabilities in Michigan.
