Lambda has started adapting existing oil and gas infrastructure to enable the storage of 160 million metric tons of CO2 captured from multiple carbon intensive operations, including ethanol plants, cement plants, natural gas processing plants, and future industrial sources with a desire to produce carbon neutral products.

These CO2 sources will produce low carbon-intensity transportation fuel, cement, natural gas, and products to assist the State of Michigan in achieving its aggressive decarbonization goals.

The available tanks for storage are called Niagaran Pinnacle Reefs. Lambda has operations in roughly 180 of these storage tanks and has already begun work to convert legacy Oil and Gas producing reefs, to permanent carbon sequestration via EPA Class VI well permits.

Strategically positioned across the northern reef trend, our existing pipeline infrastructure and subsurface capacity places Lambda at the forefront of carbon storage capabilities in Michigan.
